Could be related to being extracted from a core dump file after the
fact?  I've attached gdb output up until where I enabled logging to the
previously attached file and 'bt full'.

icedove-dbg:
  Installed: 1:45.4.0-1~deb8u1

I'll see if I can catch this with Icedove started within gdb, if this
produces better debugging info.
