This appears to be fixed in debian-cd git as of a few days ago: https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/debian-cd/debian-cd.git/commit/?id=ae59c4e92b7f1b8303908cc81497514d40f2de8c Since simple-cdd is just using debian-cd, and debian-cd fixes the issue, I've reassigned the bug to debian-cd. live well, vagrant
