I can see how this is annoying. I'm not sure though that fixing this in jessie now meets the criteria that the stable release team would use: https://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/developers-reference/ch05.en.html#upload-stable If you would like to pursue this, would you care to please file the bug report as described in that Developers' Reference section ?
