The alternative will be removed from the next upload of gccgo, or at least
that's what doko told me.

https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=842254 is about fixing
this properly.

I don't really want to fix this the way you are suggesting because most
packages that are implemented in Go just build-depend on golang-any and
invoke /usr/bin/go and it seems important that the version of Go that gets
you is controlled by the packages' build-depends (and the state of the
archive at the time) not whatever the admin of the system has done with
update-alternatives (this is why the alternatives got removed).
