Package: xsane
Version: 0.999-3+b1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

Running xsane (I have a Canon MP280 installed, and a webcam that I have never
setup), the programme immediatly showed a dialog saying "Scanning for devices"
which then disappeared, it then takes a very long time minutes/tens of minutes
for the xsane window to appear.

A similar long wait occurred after clicking to do a scan, after a while it
timed out with a dialog titled "Warning" saying "Operation was cancelled."

After closing and restarting everything happened at a normal speed.
