There is a new upstream version for libmailtools-perl, 2.18. Could you please package it? I need it at least 2.17 to be able to update a package maintained in the pkg-perl group. Btw, I would like to take to opportunity: Have you considered to move the package unter the pkg-perl umbrella and maintain it within the Debian Perl Group maintenance team?
