Hello Marc, thank you for spending your time helping to make Debian better with this bug report. I have test the install / update of shotwell, but I can't reproduce your bug. The icons are installed from shotwell-common into /usr/share/shotwell/icons. And shotwell found them there. Please can you attach you apt log and the output of df, ls -l /usr/share/shotwell/icons and md5sum /usr/bin/shotwell.
