Hi, I'm not too keen on packaging something that is not even in RC yet, I've taken a look at the state of this branch and it currently only adds symbols to libabeltrace1 which by my understanding would not require a transition. So I guess we don't have to worry about the November fifth freeze.
That being said, I would really like to get this in Debian as soon as possible, I'll ask the maintainer what is the ETA for the release.
