Well, the corresponding script was partially rewritten before
releasing 2.40, please see
| $ cvs diff -rblender-2-37a-release -rblender-2-40-release
release/scripts/wings_import.py | diffstat
| wings_import.py | 193

However, the Debian packaging doesn't change this file, so I'm afraid
this is an upstream issue. Please, if you find the time, report this
problem to the blender.org Bug Tracker at
<http://projects.blender.org/tracker/?group_id=9&atid=125>, adding all
suitable information you deem important (possibly imcluding a sample
file), and send a short pointer to the newly opened tracker item to
this bugreport at <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>. If for some reason this
isn't possible I'll act as a proxy forwarding this issue upstream.

Cheers,
Flo
