I installed Stretch with TDM/TDE 14.0.4 Monday night on 00:0d.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation C61 [GeForce 6150SE nForce 430] (rev a2) without installing xserver-xorg-video-nouveau. Modesetting driver integral to X server is used. Neither nouveau.config=NvMSI=0 nor nouveau.noaccel=1 are required to avoid Xorg corruption (except for the UI in mozilla.org's Firefox 49.0 built with GTK3).
