Package: aspell-de Version: 20160407-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
aspell-de installs /usr/lib/aspell/de_DE.alias, but not the files /usr/lib/aspell/{deutsch,german}.alias, which some tools seem to expect. I found this bug when emacs' flyspell spellchecker couldn't find the german dictionary (saying 'Error: The file "/usr/lib/aspell/german" can not be opened for reading.""), and was tempted to report a bug against emacs. But looking at the other language packages of aspell I found that they all install files named after the native and english name of the language (I checked aspell-pl, aspell-es, and aspell-fr). So I assume these files are missing for german, and other tools using aspell will fail to provide spellchecking as well. In an installation of Arch Linux that I could check /usr/lib/aspell/german.alist and .../deutsch.alist exist, and have the same (one-line) content as .../de_DE.alist.
