Package: livestreamer Version: 1.13~fix1-1 Severity: wishlist Dear Maintainer,
Several livestreamer plugins (including the one used for Twitch) need recent patches in order to work. Unfortunately, upstream is inactive since February, and apparently not inclined to resume working on the project (source: comments in [1]). I've collected fixes for 14 livestreamer plugins from the project's pending PR list and push them into a single big PR/patchset[2] to be applied on top of the lastest released version of the upstream `develop` branch (commit ab80dbd on 2 Feb 2016). These commits neither include new code/features nor new plugins, only fixes to existing plugins so they hopefully shouldn't introduce new bugs. Perhaps it would be useful to add these fixes to the current packaged version so they can make it into the next Debian stable release. There is also an effort to fork and continue developing and maintaining livestreamer called streamlink[3]. However, the developers still have to go through the RFP/ITP process, and I don't know if there is enough time to get into the archive before the Stretch freeze.
