Hi, ... no problem. Yes, I would sponsor the upload if you going to have an updated package ready. Beyond that, yes I would be interested in constantly looking after/taking care of blosc. No need to orphan it - I'm going to change the Maintainer field, then (if you could sign an email/reply saying that this is all right with you, that would be o.k.). I've filed ITP bugs for python-blosc and bloscpack recently, making a wrap. If you would like to send over your work on that so far, I would keep you in deb/copyright then.
