I strace'd the php call and saw that the file in question is there (in the example above /tmp/magick-4028M_5kB2MxtwSv1), being opened and read and then unlinked. But it also tries to unlink /tmp/magick-4028M_5kB2MxtwSv1.cache (name + ".cache") - which doesn't exist. I think the bug comes from that.
