Also I realized that the installer asked for brcm/brcmfmac4330-sdio.bin for the wifi module, but when supplying it on a USB stick formatted as ext4, the installer did not find it. I checked, the Jessie installer works on the same hardware flawless. Upgrading fom Jessie to Stretch worked flawless.
