Hello, upstream here This issue is caused by the test suite calling a command which uses ping. Calling ping from a shell shows the same error:
$ eatmydata ping -W 1 -c 1 127.0.0.1 > /dev/null ERROR: ld.so: object 'libeatmydata.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded (cannot open shared object file): ignored. Limnoria detects ping's stderr is not empty, so it raises this error. I believe this is the appropriate behavior, and that the bug is actually in ping. What do you think?
