As suggested in https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=82918 8#77, I tried to install GCC6-compiled versins of the relevant packages.
I get the same error : started from the graphical interface, I see the main windowsz for one-two seconds, then the prograp crashes (and the window disappears. Started from the command line, I see : ----------------------------------------------------------------------- charpent@SAP5057241:~$ icedove [calBackendLoader] Using libical backend at /usr/lib/icedove/extensions/{e2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad- a41df1933103}/components/libical-manifest progress_panel Warning: Use of getPrefSafe() is deprecated and will be removed with the next release. Two questions : 1) Do you think worthwhile to file another bug report ? 2) What is the latest "stable" (not reported as having this bug) version of icedove/iceowl that I could install and pin ? Icedove is the only mail/calendar/address client that allows me to reach my Google-hosted calendar and address book from behind our d*mn corporate firewall... HTH, -- Emmanuel Charpentier
