Package: kernel-package Version: 10.032 Severity: wishlist Hello,
with the current linux-image postinst, the control of postinst method is a bit uncomfortable. Concrete situation: I have linux-image-foo-1-k7 form Debian already installed. I wanna keep it as a second choice (backup boot kernel) while I have a self-compiled kernel. I think this setup is not that unusual. I am using grub, therefore I do not need to run lilo setup anyways. Now the problem: when I do a regular dist-upgrade, Debian's linix-image-foo-* is pulled into selection and in the middle of the postinst run, the debconf menu appears. It tells me about noticing this kernel already installed and continuing or stoping. But what kind of choice is that?
