On further reflection, it makes more sense for the debian-swirl icon to be in desktop-base. And in fact they do have a version of the icon:
https://packages.debian.org/sid/all/desktop-base/filelist /usr/share/icons/hicolor/128x128/emblems/emblem-debian.png /usr/share/icons/hicolor/36x36/emblems/emblem-debian.png /usr/share/icons/hicolor/64x64/emblems/emblem-debian.png /usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/emblems/emblem-debian.svg But the Debian GDM3 default uses a 48 pixel icon. If it ought to be 48 pixels, then we'll have to ask the desktop-base maintainers to add that size. With the other issue I mentioned, how about a MBF to try to remove gnome-icon-theme-symbolic (only 6 rdepends) and gnome-icon-theme (over 50 rdepends)? Jeremy
