It makes no sense to wait. The current version (8.1) is just as broken
as the 8.2 version regarding OpenSSL 1.1, no?

And when OpenSSL 1.1 is uploaded to unstable, we can backport the upstream
patch if Hydra 8.3 is not yet released at that time.

I looked at the git repository... unfortunately you created a new
repository from scratch while the package already had a long history
in collab-maint. So I dropped your new repository, copied over the
collab-maint repository and I imported the work you did for 8.2
on top of the old history.

I also made a little change in debian/rules since it's not needed to
export CFLAGS/CPPFLAGS/LDFLAGS manually. "dh" does it for you.
