Package: mhash
Severity: grave
Justification: causes non-serious data loss

Hi,

since upgrading to libmhash2 0.9.4a-1, the gringotts package can not
read its encrypted files anymore. Downgrading to 0.9.1-1 restored
the functionality.
gringotts uses libgringotts, which in turn uses the crc32 hash
algorithm of mhash. I suspect that the hashing changed between
versions, which breaks software using it.
Tomorrow I will write a little C testapp that compare the hash
output between 0.9.1 and 0.9.4a.

Regards,
  Bastian
