Open an SSH (Shell) connection in the left or right pane. There are directories, where the buffer allocated for dates are not long enough and dates cannot fit in the character array. This manifests itself in a "buffer overflow" like problem, when the beginning of the filename contains a part of the date/time. I tried to order them in a line with more or less success. You can see the broken names starting with a year or a time. Ordering of entries also reflect the bug, since times are ordered first, then dates (2004-2005), then letters. This could cause serious memory management problems. The problem has been occoured on 3 different machines with Debian Stable. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.4.27-2-386 Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages mc depends on: ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-22 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libglib2.0-0 2.6.4-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgpmg1 1.19.6-19sarge1 General Purpose Mouse - shared lib -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
