I'm the maintainer of mboxcheck that I wrote myself many years ago to check the number of new, read and old mails in a mbox file or a set of mbox files. However I do not use it anymore (and therefore do not really want to maintain it) and according to popcon it does not look like anyone else is using it either. I guess most people have switched to maildir now. Considering the very low number of users I think it is better to remove it from the archives than to let someone to take it over.
