Are you sure /cdrom is correct?  But if you had used a wrong device
path, you should have gotten a warning saying that the device doesn't
exist.  Anyway, I just removed cdrecord from my machine and jack works
without any problems.

Can you still reproduce this bug?  If so, can you please send your
configuration files and the output of "jack --debug".
