Package: vrms Version: 1.16 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate *** * What led up to the situation? * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? * What was the outcome of this action? * What outcome did you expect instead? *** End of the template - remove these template lines *** I needed to install non-free drivers for my printer. I realized that installing packages using .deb files circumvents vrms (using dpkg -i filename.deb). It would be nice if there was a way for the user to mark known non-free packages manually. I like using vrms to "keep track" of the few non-free packages I have, so I know to try and replace them with free alternatives eventually.
