Not sure about mdns4 (is 230 fully compliant with everything avahi provides?), but dns was left untouched on purpose: libnss_dns is guaranteed to be installed for any foreign architecture you might have enabled, as it is shipped by libc6. -- Saludos, Felipe Sateler
