It's probably related to #762719, but I'd guess instead of a password protected PDF, it's due to some other recently used bad file. If you still have this problem, can you try to clear the recently used list by: mv ~/.local/share/recently-used.xbel ~/ And see if that fixes it? And if it does fix it, go through recently-used.xbel to see if you can find which document crashes evince?
