It seems im-switch sets [EMAIL PROTECTED]
With this, dead-keys no longer work in emacs (in X only). For example, after
pressing the circumflex key emacs 22 says: <dead-circumflex> is undefined
Looks like what is described in

Not sure this bug really belongs to im-switch...
