Package: ndiswrapper-dkms Version: 1.59-2 Severity: serious Tags: d-i patch upstream Justification: fails to build from source (but built successfully in the past)
Dear Maintainer, The ndiswrapper source uses the depreciated c function 'strnicmp()', this function is not in the libc anymore. It can be replaces with the working function 'strncasecmp()' without any other changes. Then it will compile, and I've had zero issues with this so far. Thanks, Jon. *** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate *** * What led up to the situation? * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? * What was the outcome of this action? * What outcome did you expect instead? *** End of the template - remove these template lines *** -- System Information: LSB Version: core-2.0-ia32:core-2.0-noarch:core-3.0-ia32:core-3.0-noarch:core-3.1-ia32:core-3.1-noarch:core-3.2-ia32:core-3.2-noarch:core-4.0-ia32:core-4.0-noarch:core-4.1-ia32:core-4.1-noarch:security-4.0-ia32:security-4.0-noarch:security-4.1-ia32:security-4.1-noarch Distributor ID: Kali Description: Kali GNU/Linux 2.0 Release: 2.0 Codename: sana Architecture: i686 Kernel: Linux 4.0.0-kali1-686-pae (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages ndiswrapper-dkms depends on: ii dkms 2.2.0.3-2 ndiswrapper-dkms recommends no packages. ndiswrapper-dkms suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
