Package: htop Version: 2.0.1-1 Severity: wishlist Tags: upstream I have previously reported a wishlist item for less()ing or tail()ing files from the list of open files of a process as produced by lsof:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=641929 This report was tagged WONTFIX on the grounds that showing files goes beyond the scope of a _process_ viewer. I can agree with this rationale. However, a typical scenario of (my) htop use is to inspect processes to find out which (say log-) files they have open -- in order to inspect the content of those files. I also run gpm courtesy of which I can copy-paste file paths from htop's lsof screen into another console for running less on that file. However, while positioning the mouse cursor for selecting a path to copy-paste the list of open files may change and thereby the position of the desired path to copy-paste moves away from under the mouse cursor. This can get rather irritating on processes busy opening/closing files :-) Hence my desire to be able to "freeze" InfoScreen instances - after which they don't auto-refresh anymore until "unfreeze" is commanded. Makes sense ? (BTW, this applies to all screens, except the lsof one makes for a good example) Thanks for considering, Karsten -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 4.5.0-1-686-pae (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages htop depends on: ii libc6 2.22-6 ii libncursesw5 6.0+20160319-1 ii libtinfo5 6.0+20160319-1 htop recommends no packages.
