Hello

yesterday i purged packagekit. Today i still get a notification about newly
avail updates. So packagekit is not the cause.

i get this in syslog:

Apr 19 20:07:03 localhost systemd[1]: Started Daily apt activities.
Apr 19 20:07:03 localhost systemd[1]: apt-daily.timer: Adding 7h 21min
11.609254s random time.
Apr 19 20:07:03 localhost systemd[1]: Startup finished in 11.500s (kernel) +
1min 16.023s (userspace) = 1min 27.524s.
Apr 19 20:07:03 localhost systemd[1]: apt-daily.timer: Adding 7h 19min
33.003847s random time.

After looking at it i think the cause is this local setting:
APT::Periodic::RandomSleep "10";

This setting is from the old cron job where apt would run only after the default
5min delay from anacron.

i changed that now to 180s.

Obviously this "bug" is wrongly added to packagekit. If maintainers could live
with that one more day i clean that up in b.d.o tomorrow.

kind regards,

     Thilo
