It seems there is some interest for Zeal to be backported to Debian jessie, as this upstream report shows: https://github.com/zealdocs/zeal-packaging/issues/11 The backport is trivial, I was able to do it with only: apt source zeal cd zeal* dch --bpo debuild ... provided, of course, that you have the testing sources.list. I could upload the backport myself, but i am not a regular user of zeal so the backport is at a risk of bitrot. so i would prefer that the maintainer take care of it. thanks! -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.4 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'proposed-updates'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.2.0-0.bpo.1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=fr_CA.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_CA.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages zeal depends on: ii libappindicator1 0.4.92-3.1 ii libarchive13 3.1.2-11 ii libc6 2.19-18+deb8u4 ii libgcc1 1:4.9.2-10 ii libglib2.0-0 2.42.1-1+b1 ii libgtk2.0-0 2.24.25-3+deb8u1 ii libqt5core5a 5.3.2+dfsg-4+deb8u1 ii libqt5gui5 5.3.2+dfsg-4+deb8u1 ii libqt5network5 5.3.2+dfsg-4+deb8u1 ii libqt5sql5 5.3.2+dfsg-4+deb8u1 ii libqt5sql5-sqlite 5.3.2+dfsg-4+deb8u1 ii libqt5webkit5 5.3.2+dfsg-4 ii libqt5widgets5 5.3.2+dfsg-4+deb8u1 ii libqt5x11extras5 5.3.2-2 ii libstdc++6 4.9.2-10 ii libx11-6 2:1.6.2-3 ii libxcb-keysyms1 0.4.0-1 ii libxcb1 1.10-3+b1 zeal recommends no packages. zeal suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
