Just started learning about BtrFS now that I have a new hdd that I want
to store my large research data files.
Anyway, I wondered if you needed any help with this, I see that
btrfs-progs now has many new versions out since 4.4 with lots of
bugfixes, currently 4.5.1 according to
https://btrfs.wiki.kernel.org/index.php/Main_Page. I guess this would
also make it easier to make the switch, as we just upload btrfs-tools
4.5.1 as a transitional package pointing to brtfs-progs, killing two
birds with one stone, so to speak.
I should note my bias on this though as I want the most stable (aka
up-to-date) version to reformat my hdd with.
