Did you compute how much disk space it would save? PDFs *are* already compressed, that is the reason it does not make sense to recompress them. The difference is not even 50M as far as I see, and this is with highest compression. I don't think this is worth the trade off. Simply do *not* install tl-latex-extra-doc is the better solution for your notebook.
