To JWZ: if you don't wish to read about issues like this one, please stop reading Debian bug reports. There's no need for you to do so; if and when an issue arises in a Debian bug report that requires action from you, you _will_ hear about it.
To everyone: What about renaming the package, along the lines of iceweasel (i.e., "fork in name only")? If JWZ's frustration is due to clueless users contacting him directly about bugs in Debian, then renaming the program would presumably help in redirecting those users' complaints to the place they belong. Of course, it's important to keep the existing attribution notices (unless the author prefers otherwise), but adding additional comments alongside them, reminding users of where to report bugs, would certainly also be helpful.
