Dear Tormod, please include the patch from this bug report. Debian supports building in a variety of build environments, including using the users (=builders) locale.
(Modifying debian/rules to call "make" with the locale set to C would
also work, but is inferior, as this will result in all build messages to be
in english instead of the users choosen locale. Thus modifying
hacks/Makefile.in as the provided patch does is actually superior.)
