Hi Sebastian, I did the last 5 uploads of vtk, even if I'm not the maintainer (in the middle some NMUs were performed). So, even if I'm not uploader/maintainer of the package, I can say that nobody is interested in it, doing to the transition(?) to vtk6 and vtk7. I did the uploads as team uploads, so I can say (even if with no authoritative hat), please upload it with no delay if it helps your transition to be done, the patch is trivial, and the package won't be part of stretch anyway (#798164).
