Once again I came accross base-files and the fact that you are not using
debhelper hit me again in multiple ways.

And it also leads to lintian errors/warnings that would have been avoided
such as those:
E: base-files: symlink-should-be-absolute etc/os-release ../usr/lib/os-release
W: base-files: package-contains-timestamped-gzip
usr/share/doc/base-files/changelog.gz

(the latter one seems to have been fixed in the mean time)

May I prepare an updated package for your consideration?

Cheers,
