Not really. I just wanted a "Compose" key. Using a GNOME tool under
KDE is suboptimal, and this tool has been removed in recent GNOME
versions, or I cannot find it. And I was looking for a solution that
would allow me to enable it for all users.

Its description has a lot of appeal :>. It looks like a package that
deserves to be on my systems.

If I understand correctly, installing xkb-data had no effect on my
keyboard config. So the xkb-data package is not to blame for my
problem. This leave us with either xorg or GNOME. Do you have any
idea ?
