I too am observing my system hang during shutdown due to this issue. Is there an "offical" work around or patch available?
I have only /home mounted as an encrypted filesystem. Such a simple case, yet I can't shut down my system cleanly. Everything worked fine before I "upgraded" from jessie to stretch. tim
