I could provide countless examples - I rather can't provide a counter
example where the expected behaviour would work. But to fullfil your
request:
$ file /usr/share/java/ant-1.9.6.jar
/usr/share/java/ant-1.9.6.jar: Java archive data (JAR)
as from the Debian ant package (or any other JAR you can find in your
/usr/share/java/ dir.

I admit I'd prefer a more sensible type-based solution - but this one
worked in contrast to other means I tried.
