I am no longer running into this issue for some time now. Checking two media that failed earlier confirms the error is gone.
Actually, Jessie has bumped two point versions since the bug report: $ cat /etc/debian_version 8.3 Moreover I am running kernel from backports: $ uname -a Linux [...] 4.3.0-0.bpo.1-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.3.3-7~bpo8+1 (2016-01-19) x86_64 GNU/Linux So my hearty thanks to someone and, as far as I am concerned, this bug is solved.
