In your modprobe.d directory there's the bumblebee.conf and nvidia-kernel-common.conf, but not nvidia.conf. It should be there as a symlink: ls -l /etc/modprobe.d/ | grep nvidia.conf lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 43 Oct 17 11:46 nvidia.conf -> /etc/alternatives/glx--nvidia-modprobe.conf Try to run: sudo update-glx --config glx and choose "bumblebee", see if that reinstalls the symlink.
