This problem does not appear on a blank test account.
My guess is that the problem is that Galeon does not
clean up properly after it has been started.
Did you try to killall galeon or any aliases for galeon
(x-www-browser is an example)?
No I didn't. The commands:
killall galeon
galeon & [here I get the "Galeon Crash Recovery" window as expected]
galeon --new-tab http://www.crs4.it/ [here the tab just opens as expected]
fixed the problem.
Does that happen when creating regular Galeon windows too?
I didn't test that. I never run with more than one Galeon
window.
I noticed that under heavy load, opening another Galeon
window (not specially the request of a new tab) causes
Galeon to not recognize it's currently running windows.
I don't think that was the problem. I checked for a full
disk too. That didn't seem to be the problem either
(although I'm close).
Thanks for the assistance and happy New Year,
Jacob
