that's pretty much wrong, it does support it. egrep SUSP /boot/config-2.6.15-1-686 CONFIG_SOFTWARE_SUSPEND=y also if you use initramfs-tools it will automatically parse your boot up resume setting and do the right thing. it may be wishlist to have the d-i grub-installer or lilo-installer add the resume arg for the created swap to the boot args?? > > also it's nice to have more swap for bigger apps running on desktop > > boxes > > Which applications? When you get to the point your desktop is using 2GB > of swap, it is completely unusable. well usual bloated desktop stuff, that the user wish: oowriter + inkscape + scribus + firefox + .. but i agree double the size of ram may be to much for 1g ram boxes, the size of ram would be enough. -- maks
