* What led up to the situation?
Upgrading to iceweasel 44.0-1 from 43.0.4-1.
I normally run iceweasel without several hundred tabs open and although CPU
and RAM use seemed similar between the versions (around 50 percent CPU when
relatively idle and 1.2 GiB RAM resident on an 8 GiB RAM system), page
loads and refreshing appears very sluggish by comparison.

Downgraded iceweasel to 43.0.4-1.
* What was the outcome of this action?
Page loading and refreshing no longer sluggish.
