Hi Manuel,

thanks for the update, I will check with upstream and get back to you
soon.

It would also be good if you can test if this is fixed with 2.0.2 that
I just uploaded, should be available in the mirrors within hours or
days.

Cheers.

Here's some information I can provide.

This is still a problem in the latest package from sid. 2.0.2.

However, I have two 64 bit machines, and they both do not exhibit this
problem. The one that does exhibit this problem has a few more usb devices
plugged in than the other one. But even when I plug more usb input devices
into the laptop with a working sdl-input, it still works, and no matter
what I try, the machine that does not work, will not recognize these
gamepads even though I can use them in programs that do not use the sdl
gamepad input system.

Perhaps this is a system configuration issue or a conflict with other
packages. It doesn't seem like any other distribution has this issue, but
that doesn't mean that they don't.

To the OP, out of curiosity, does your machine in question use an xorg.conf
file?

We just uploaded 2.0.4, the latest upstream released recently.

Do you still experience this problem?

If yes, it would be niced if you opened a bug upstream (or link to an
existing bug) so we can track the progress. We could open the bug for
you, but ultimately you would need to communicate with upstream
developers if they ask you questions about models, or to perform some
checks, etc.

Cheers.
