Package: udisks2 Version: 2.1.3-5 Severity: wishlist At least one microSD card (purchased from a major U.S. warehouse club) was preformatted as exfat. Since extfat-fuse is not installed by default, such cards appear to "not work" on a fresh jessie desktop install. Installing exfat-fuse "fixes" it.
I propose putting exfat-fuse somewhere in the dependency graph of task-desktop. The precedent set by ntfs-3g would seem to say that desirable userspace filesystem implementations should be pulled in by udisks2 Recommends, hence my suggested resolution. -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.2 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.3.0-0.bpo.1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages udisks2 depends on: ii dbus 1.8.20-0+deb8u1 ii libacl1 2.2.52-2 ii libatasmart4 0.19-3 ii libc6 2.19-18+deb8u1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.42.1-1 ii libgudev-1.0-0 215-17+deb8u2 ii libpam-systemd 215-17+deb8u2 ii libpolkit-agent-1-0 0.105-8 ii libpolkit-gobject-1-0 0.105-8 ii libsystemd0 215-17+deb8u2 ii libudisks2-0 2.1.3-5 ii parted 3.2-7 ii udev 215-17+deb8u2 Versions of packages udisks2 recommends: ii dosfstools 3.0.27-1 ii eject 2.1.5+deb1+cvs20081104-13.1 ii gdisk 0.8.10-2 ii ntfs-3g 1:2014.2.15AR.2-1+deb8u2 ii policykit-1 0.105-8 Versions of packages udisks2 suggests: pn btrfs-tools <none> ii cryptsetup-bin 2:1.6.6-5 ii exfat-utils 1.1.0-2 pn mdadm <none> pn reiserfsprogs <none> pn xfsprogs <none> -- no debconf information
