I have only one USB to 1Wire converter that works right now in something that is very important to me so right now I can't test older versions.
When I was testing owfs installed from Debian's apt repo I have found in logs: Jan 17 21:05:08 fire OWFS[1604]: DEFAULT: ow_arg.c:(552) USB support (intentionally) not included in compilation. Check LIBUSB, then reconfigure and recompile.
