Can't reproduce it here with unstable APT and as you have
used aptitude in all but the policy command it feels more
like an aptitude problem - which is not reproducible for me here
in unstable either, so its maybe already fixed…
(but unfortunately i have not enough time to check this deeper)
I'm going to trust David here and consider this fixed.
Please reopen if you still experience this behaviour with more recent
versions.
